The Tutorials were not that great, but the people I have met have more than made up for it. Coming from Townsville Queensland, there are not a whole lot of other people working within the Semantic Web (at least I have not found them yet, but I am sure they are out there).
Well, the main thing that I came away from the event was meeting people. I met a lot of great people that I would have never crossed paths with if I hadn't attended. I met Ian Davis and Sam from Talis on the 2nd day. I posted a message to the linking-open-data group about being at the conference and to see if anyone else would be there. Within a short period of time Ian emailed and later that day we introduced ourselves. Very nice guys. Doing a lot of cool work. I also met Rob Gonzalez who was formerly working on the IBM Boca (Semantic Web) project. I was just asking Ian and Sam if they had ever heard of or used the boca system and Ian got a huge smile and pointed over to Rob, "Just ask this guy " :) Amazing how things work.
